❓ Frequently Asked Questions – Online Notepad

Are my notes saved automatically?
Yes! Every keystroke is automatically saved to your browser's localStorage. Your notes persist even if you close the tab or browser, as long as you use the same browser on the same device. Notes are stored locally and never sent to any server — your content is completely private.
How many notes can I create?
You can create as many notes as your browser's localStorage allows (typically 5-10MB). Each note is stored separately with its title, content and timestamps. Use the search bar to find notes quickly when you have many saved.
Can I format my notes?
Yes! The format bar lets you insert Markdown formatting — bold, italic, code, strikethrough, headings (H1/H2/H3), bullet lists, numbered lists, checklists, blockquotes and horizontal rules. You can also insert the current date and time with one click. Download your notes as .md for Markdown-rendered viewing.
What is Focus Mode?
Focus Mode hides the notes sidebar and right panel to give you a full-width, distraction-free writing experience. Click the ⛶ Focus button in the toolbar to enable it. Click again or press Escape to exit Focus Mode.
Can I use this notepad offline?
Yes! Once the page loads, the notepad works completely offline. Since all data is stored in your browser's localStorage and no server calls are made, you can continue writing and saving notes even without an internet connection. Your notes will be there when you come back online.
