❓ Frequently Asked Questions – PDF to Image

Is this PDF to Image converter safe? Are files uploaded?
Your PDF file is never uploaded to any server. This tool works entirely in your browser using PDF.js to render each PDF page onto an HTML5 Canvas, then encodes the canvas to your chosen image format. All processing happens locally on your device. This makes it completely safe for confidential documents, legal contracts, medical records and personal files.
What DPI should I choose?
72 DPI is suitable for screen viewing only and produces the smallest files. 150 DPI is recommended for web use and is the default setting — it provides good clarity for most purposes. 200 DPI is suitable for printing. 300 DPI is the professional printing standard and produces the highest quality images but also the largest files. For social media sharing, 150 DPI is usually sufficient.
What is the difference between JPG, PNG and WebP?
JPG produces the smallest files and is best for colorful or photographic PDF pages but does not support transparency. PNG produces larger files but supports transparency (useful for diagrams and logos) and has no quality loss. WebP is a modern format that achieves about 30% smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality while also supporting transparency — it is the best choice for web use but may not open in older software.
Can I convert specific pages only?
Yes. Enter a page range in the "Page Range" field. You can use formats like "1-5" (pages 1 to 5), "1,3,7" (specific pages only), or "1-3,8,10-15" (mix of ranges and individual pages). Leave the field blank to convert all pages.
Can I download individual pages instead of all at once?
Yes! After conversion, each image card has its own download button. You can also click on image cards to select them (highlighted with a pink border), then click "Download Selected" to download only the pages you want. Or use "Download All as ZIP" to get everything in one archive.
