❓ Frequently Asked Questions – PDF Rotator

Is this PDF rotator safe? Are my files uploaded?
Your PDF file is never uploaded to any server. This tool works entirely in your browser using PDF.js to render pages and a custom JavaScript PDF writer to build the rotated output. All processing happens locally on your device, making it completely safe for confidential documents, legal contracts and personal files.
Can I rotate only specific pages?
Yes! You can rotate individual pages or groups of pages. Click on page thumbnails to select them (blue border), then use the rotation controls to rotate only the selected pages. You can also select all odd pages or all even pages using the quick-select buttons. Each page can also be rotated independently using the small ↻↺ buttons on its card.
Does the rotation preview show the actual result?
Yes! The CSS rotation applied to each page thumbnail in the preview is a live preview of the final result. A purple rotation badge shows the exact rotation angle for each modified page. When you click Apply, the same rotation is applied to build the final PDF.
What rotation angles are supported?
This tool supports four rotation angles: 0° (no rotation / original), 90° clockwise, 180° (upside down), and 270° clockwise (which is equivalent to 90° counter-clockwise). You can combine rotations — for example, clicking 90° CW twice gives 180°.
Will the text quality be affected by rotation?
The output PDF uses image-based pages (rendered via Canvas). This means the output quality depends on the render scale used during processing. Text remains clear and readable at standard resolution. For highest quality, use the default settings. The output is functionally identical to the input — just rotated.
