❓ Frequently Asked Questions – Word to PDF
Is this Word to PDF converter safe to use?
Yes, completely safe. This converter works entirely in your browser using mammoth.js — your Word document is never uploaded to any server, never stored, and never shared with anyone. The conversion happens locally on your device. This makes it suitable for confidential documents, contracts, personal files and business documents.
What Word features are supported?
This converter supports the most common Word elements: text with bold, italic and underline formatting, heading styles (H1 through H6), tables, numbered and bulleted lists, hyperlinks, images embedded in the document, and blockquotes. Complex features like text boxes, WordArt, SmartArt, mail merge fields, macros and custom themes are not supported.
Why does my PDF look different from the original Word file?
Word and PDF are fundamentally different formats. This browser-based converter extracts content and renders it into a clean PDF, but cannot perfectly replicate every visual aspect of Word's rendering engine. Complex multi-column layouts, precise text positioning, custom fonts, and advanced formatting may differ. For pixel-perfect conversion of complex documents, a desktop application like Microsoft Word's built-in "Save as PDF" feature produces the best results.
Can I convert .DOC files (older Word format)?
This tool currently supports .DOCX format only (the modern Office Open XML format used by Word 2007 and later). The older binary .DOC format is not supported. If you have a .DOC file, you can open it in Microsoft Word or LibreOffice and save it as .DOCX first, then use this converter.
What paper sizes are available?
You can choose between A4 (210×297mm, standard in most countries), US Letter (8.5×11", standard in North America), A3 (297×420mm, for larger documents) and US Legal (8.5×14"). Both portrait and landscape orientations are supported, and you can choose between normal, narrow, wide and no margins.
