โ Frequently Asked Questions โ Audio Volume Booster
How much can I boost the volume?
You can set the volume multiplier from 0.1ร (very quiet) to 5ร (maximum boost). A 2ร boost doubles the amplitude, making audio noticeably louder. Beyond 3ร, some distortion (clipping) may occur in parts of the audio that were already at high volume. The level meter helps you estimate the output loudness.
Will boosting cause distortion?
Boosting beyond 3ร can cause clipping distortion on audio that was already near maximum volume. The safest way is to use the preview to listen before downloading. If you hear distortion, reduce the multiplier. For audio that was recorded quietly (e.g. voice recordings), 2โ3ร usually works well without distortion.
What formats are supported?
You can load MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, M4A, and any other audio format your browser supports. The boosted audio is exported as WAV (lossless), which ensures the best quality and is compatible with all media players and editing software.
Is my audio uploaded to any server?
No. Everything happens in your browser using the Web Audio API. Your file is read locally, processed locally, and the result is downloaded to your device. Nothing is ever sent to a server, making this tool completely private and secure.
