โ Frequently Asked Questions โ Video Trimmer
What video formats are supported?
You can load MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, and most other video formats that your browser supports for playback. The output will be in WebM format, which is universally supported by modern browsers and can be played in VLC, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
Why is the output WebM and not MP4?
Browser-based video trimming uses the MediaRecorder API, which outputs WebM natively. MP4 encoding requires native codec support that isn't available in all browsers. WebM is a high-quality open format. To convert WebM to MP4, you can use VLC (free, open-source) or HandBrake after downloading.
How do I find the exact time to trim?
Play the video and pause at the point you want to start or end the trim. The current time is shown in the video player controls in MM:SS format. Convert to seconds (e.g., 1:23 = 83 seconds) and enter that value in the Start or End Time input field.
Is there a file size limit?
The tool supports video files up to 200MB. Larger files may work but could be slow depending on your device's memory. For very large files, we recommend using a desktop application like VLC or HandBrake for better performance.
